Lafiya App houses a large Knowledge-Base of curated medical content with the participation of local and foreign doctors. The Knowledge Base also provides professional insights on medical questions, topics, conditions, trending news, checklists, etc. We’ve combined information from Lafiya App Knowledge Base with Artificial Intelligence to provide users the appropriate care based on their symptoms. Lafiya App is a Telehealth-tech company determined to improve access to affordable health care to people anywhere in Nigeria. Lafiya App is a network of licensed primary care physicians who diagnose routine, non-emergency medical problems via video, audio, or text-chat.

Who Can Use Lafiya App?

Age-related rules for Lafiya App use: Under age 13, user must be a sub-account under parent or guardian’s Lafiya App account (guardian adds said person in “People you care for”). At age 13 and above, user can create a FREE Lafiya App account using FREE services. Use of virtual consult requires adult supervision. Engagement in virtual consults without adult supervision is acceptable at age 18 and above.

Do I speak with licensed doctors?

Yes. Lafiya Telehealth App members engage only with medical practitioners licensed from U.S. and UK or Nigerian board-certified internists, Government licensed family practitioners, and pediatricians licensed to practice medicine in the U.S., UK and Nigeria. When a user requests a visit, Lafiya Telehealth App connects user with a licensed doctor physically or an online video call.

What are common conditions Lafiya Telehealth App treats?

Common conditions include sinus problems, respiratory infection, allergies, flu symptoms and many other non-emergency illnesses.

Can Lafiya Telehealth App handle non-emergency situations?

Lafiya Telehealth App is designed to handle non-emergent medical problems. You should NOT use it if you are experiencing a medical emergency.

Can I request a specific doctor?

You cannot request a specific doctor. Lafiya Telehealth App is designed to support your relationship with your existing doctor. All Lafiya Telehealth App doctors are board-certified, state-licensed and go through rigorous training and credentialing.

Can I use Lafiya Health App for my family?

This varies depending on your selected plan. Most plans allow users to use the Lafiya Telehealth App service for you, your spouse and your dependents.

Can I get a prescription?

Lafiya Telehealth App does not guarantee prescriptions. It is up to the doctor to recommend the best treatment options. Lafiya Telehealth App doctors do not issue prescriptions for substances controlled by the DEA, non-therapeutic, and/or drugs which may be harmful due to potential for abuse. Also, non-therapeutic drugs such as Viagra and Cialis are not prescribed by Lafiya Telehealth App doctors.

How are prescriptions sent to the pharmacy?

Lafiya Telehealth App does not dispense prescription drugs. If a doctor prescribes medication, it is submitted electronically or by phone to the pharmacy of your choice.

Is my electronic health record confidential?

Health records are kept confidential. Lafiya App employs robust encryption methods to protect your personal information. You determine who can see the information in your record.

Can I be turned down for a pre-existing condition?

We do not turn patients away because of pre-existing conditions.

Can I call Lafiya Telehealth App outside of Nigeria?

Lafiya Telehealth App visits are unavailable outside Nigeria. It is a mission to support Nigerians in rural and remote area.

What equipment is needed to use Lafiya App?

You will need a Smartphone for video visits, internet connectivity and a webcam. Video visits are strongly encouraged by our specialists and doctors.

Does Lafiya Telehealth App follow-up after each visit?

Lafiya Telehealth App specialists utilize the member message center following each visit. Our licensed nursing staff will also reach out to patients by phone after their second and sixth visit to check patient progress. Ongoing outreach will occur as needed after the sixth visit.

Are there limits to how many visits can be scheduled within a month?

Currently, no. However, Lafiya Telehealth App is committed to evaluating this program to ensure compliance with patient safety standards.

Is there a maximum number of days a prescription can be issued?

At the discretion of the appropriate licensed specialist, prescriptions can be issued between 30-90 days.

What are my payment options with Lafiya App?

Lafiya App currently accepts all major credit cards and Debit cards including Visa, MasterCard, and Lafiya App TelehealthCare Card. The billing charge on your statement will indicate “Lafiya.”

Can I pick up prescribed medication same day?

Yes. Prescriptions are typically sent electronically and can be picked up the same day. Please check with your pharmacy first to ensure they have the prescription ready for pick up.

Can I obtain a prescription on Lafiya App?

When it comes to prescriptions, our doctors make the call. Lafiya Telehealth App doctors are U.S. board-certified and licensed to practice medicine in your state. They can diagnose, treat and prescribe medication if medically necessary. When you request to speak with a doctor, we’ll ask where you’d like any prescription to be sent; we’ll even help you find a pharmacy near you when you’re traveling. Antibiotics aren’t always the right treatment. Antibiotics do not fight infections caused by viruses like colds, flu, most sore throats, bronchitis, and many sinus and ear infections. Instead, the doctor may provide a treatment plan that includes symptom relief for viral infections.

Does Lafiya App cover the cost of Prescriptions or Lab tests?

Prescriptions would be paid for by your insurance provider, or out of pocket if your insurance doesn’t cover it.

You will be given the option to send a Text Message Consult, Set a Virtual Appointment, or Live Chat if the doctor is currently available. For an immediate live consult choose the Live Chat option.

Select the individual who has the medical question (you or someone else).

Type in your question.

Provide more information in the description text box (if necessary).

Add or Update First and Last Name and Contact information.

Add any relevant Conditions, Medications, Allergies, or Attachments.

Add a pharmacy.

Which prescriptions might I receive on Lafiya App ?

During a virtual consult on Lafiya App with a specific doctor or specialist, you may or may not receive a prescription.

Can I get a prescription on Lafiya App ?

On Lafiya App , prescriptions are available by a Lafiya App  doctor’s medical expertise and discretion only.  Even if you believe you need a prescription, you should not expect a prescription on Lafiya App . Prescriptions on Lafiya App  are limited in type and duration.

Virtual Consults for family or friends of a patient

If a patient has added someone to their Lafiya App account, the new individual will be eligible for virtual consults on Lafiya App as well. Consults for these new individuals are routine and the consult (and any treatments associated therein) will be in the new individual’s name. The primary account holder has accepted liability for this in accordance with our Terms of Service..

Cost of Lafiya App Virtual Consults with Specific Doctors or Specialists

Lafiya App is an innovative telehealth application allowing customers to access (on-demand) the next-available Board-Certified Primary-Care physician who is licensed and available remotely. You do not choose the doctor with whom you will speak. Lafiya App is charged on a subscription basis. Starting price: N100 /month (although this may be affected by currently active promotions at any time). This subscription also provides a discount to visits with specific doctors or specialists in Lafiya App.

You may consult with a specific doctor or specialist either ad-hoc or by appointment. The consult offerings are a video, audio, or text-chat Live Consult, an asynchronous Message Consult, or an Appointment (which will be live at the time of the appointment). Starting price: N1000/consult (although prices may vary according to doctor experience/area of expertise).

Can I really submit a question to thousands of doctors for a free answer?

Yes – it’s true!  Health questions submitted to Lafiya App are submitted to our network of thousands of doctor across U.S, UK and Nigeria.  These doctors try to answer every question that’s submitted.  Questions are most likely to be answered when they have not already been asked and answered, and they are good health questions (easy to understand and useful to the entire Lafiya  App community).

Why is the length of questions limited? Can I ask a longer question?

We apologize for any inconvenience the limited characters may cause you. Your questions are important to us. Questions on Lafiya App are limited to 150 characters to make them easy to view on mobile devices, and so that they can be easily read and answered. In the event you have a longer question to ask, you can make a 99-cent charitable donation and submit your question with 50 more characters, or you can ask a private question to a specific doctor on Lafiya App (for a small fee).

How fast can I expect a response to my question?

Your questions concerning your health are important to us. We will answer each question as quickly and professionally as possible.

How can I follow up with a doctor, or request for a second opinion?

Yes. If you’ve received a doctor’s opinion, you can start a private conversation on Lafiya App to receive a second opinion. Private conversations allow you to upload and share documents and your health activity with the doctor.

What is my Health Activity, what is its' purpose and is it edited?

Your Health Activity is a record of the health-related information you enter into and share with Lafiya App. Secure and private your health activity is used to provide you with well-informed information on Lafiya App. Your health activity is never visible to other’s on Lafiya App. When conversing privately with a doctor using Lafiya App your name and health activity will be visible to that doctor. Additionally, you may easily edit your health activity at any time.

Can I request an appointment using Lafiya App?

Lafiya App allows you to request appointments with doctors on their Virtual Practice pages. Select the “Request Appointment” button and submit your concerns to the doctor. Either the doctor or the doctor’s staff should contact you to schedule your appointment.
